The Surana School journey started with a dream. Shri Tejraj Surana's dream. A dream founded on the insight that education was a great virtue. His son Shri Pannalal Surana, our dear founder, was no less a visionary himself. He dedicated his life towards the realization of his father's dream under the guidance and support of Shri Bhawarlal Gothi and Shri Kailashmull Dugar. He wanted the entire neighbourhood to benefit from this asset - education. Thus was born the Surana School, Shri Jawanthraj Tejraj Surana Jain Vidyalaya & Junior College, in 1983 after acquiring land and construction of the main building. The school admitted about 200 children, the very first year and started its mission. The relentless mission is carried forward by his sons, Mr. Vinod Surana, Mr. Sudarshan Surana, Mr. Anand P. Surana and Mr. Rajesh Surana with renewed and invigorated zeal.
The unwavering commitment to impart quality, holistic education is clearly evident from the history of our illustrious past-pupils over 30 glorious years coupled with over 2,000 shining bright minds in our premises currently.
This book is a humble effort to provide concrete evidence to our claims. To showcase the path laid by Mr. Anand P. Surana – Correspondent & Secretary, the guidance of our academic director – Ms. Jayanthi Balachandran, patience and meticulousness of Ms. Uma N. Murthy – Principal, fortitude of Ms. Rebecca Victor – Primary Co-ordinator, dedication of our teachers, love and care of our non-teaching staff and of course our bundle of joy – our students.
Today we stand tall with the best in infrastructure and the riches of brilliance, but we refuse to rest on our laurels. Our earnest prayer is to continue to spread the light of knowledge and to keep our pursuit of excellence never-ending yet, staying ahead of the ever-changing global needs. The journey continues. The dream lives on.

Pusi Bai, in the year 1983, when the only CBSE school in Sowcarpet was established.
